Apple announces iPad3 release on March 7 amidst Proview dispute

Apple has announced to host a media event on Wednesday,apple ipad 2 cases, March 7, to release its much-anticipated iPad 3. However, some analysts still fear that the Proview dispute might get in the way of launching the new tablet.

The new Apple iPad is expected to be faster and better equipped than its leading rivals such as Amazon Kindle Fire. In an email invitation sent to various media groups on Tuesday, the Cupertino-based company said, “We have something you really have to see. And touch,” along with a partial picture of a tablet that undoubtedly resembled the iPad. The tech giant, however, did not divulge any further details.

While some technology experts are expecting 4G wireless capability with a faster quad core processor, a better camera and a stronger battery, analyst Avi Greengart says that one does not require exceptional foresight to predict that the new tablet will be coming with a better resolution as well. “The picture is zoomed in on an icon and I don’t see any pixels in that icon”, Greengart said referring to the tablet image sent along with the invitation.

While the announcement has racked up Apple shares to a record high of $534.62 with heavy trading in the Nasdaq market, concerns about the Proview dispute still linger. Proview has been wrangling over Apple’s iPad trademark use in mainland China.

In 2009, Proview and IP Application Development Ltd. (IPAD) sealed a deal according to which IPAD, a front company for Apple, purchased the iPad trademark from Proview at a cost of $55,000. Soon after the deal, iPad became a revolutionary product throughout the world. Incidentally, Proview also released a device with the same name i.e. IPAD in 2000, but it never enjoyed any popularity. Proview is now accusing Apple of running an unfair competition and wants the 2009 deal to be ruled void.

“The sole function of Apple’s special purpose vehicle was intentional misrepresentation, and an effort to fraudulently induce Proview Taiwan into a sale of the IPAD trademarks,” Proview said in a statement. “Among the many allegations in the U.S complaint are fraud by intentional misrepresentation,ipad bluetooth keyboard, fraud by concealment,iphone adapter cable, fraudulent inducement,ipad case and stand, and unfair competition,” the company said.

After failing to have the sales of Apple’s iPad banned in China through the Shanghai court, Proview now plans to ban iPad sales in the US. It has filed a lawsuit in California’s Supreme Court.

(AAPL) reported that it has over billion in cash maintained overseas. Apple partially earned this money from international sales, but largely by holding various intellectual property patents within foreign holding company subsidiaries so that the cash leaves the U.S. as a tax-deductible business expense.

     This company was born in the USA yet does not want to contribute to help thier country with the terrible debt we have or hire American workers who have supported them for years. I think it is time to give back to the nation that made them great. How much money do you really need in life afterall. When you have more than the US treasury I think a meager 35% tax is negligible. This is a great country and I would hope that Apple will give back to her to help her at this time of great need. 

Besides basic divisions in hardware and software, there are some major differences in the wayiPhone andAndroid platform smartphone users ingest data, a new study says.

According to market research firm ComScore, iPhone owners in both the U.S. and the U.K. consumed more of their data over Wi-Fi and their carrier's wireless signal than smartphone users on Google's Android platform during the month of February.

As part of its Device Essentials study released today, ComScore said that 71 percent the U.S. users on iPhones use both cellular and Wi-Fi networks, versus 32 percent of Android users who used both as a means of connection. That left another 29 and 68 percent of users on iPhones and Android devices (respectively) that the firm says only connected to the Internet through their carrier's network.
